UNOTT
The University obtains and manages substantial research funding from the UK, Europe and internationally. The Human Factors Research Group (HFRG) is comprised of the Institute for Occupational Ergonomics (IOE ¨C formed in 1986) and the Virtual Reality Applications Research Team (VIRART ¨C formed in 1991) and is housed within the School of Mechanical, Materials and Manufacturing Engineering. This gives the team ready access to expertise across all aspects of engineering, computing, business and technology. The University of Nottingham is a leader in virtual reality research. This includes fundamental research in areas such as human factors, health and safety, new interface technologies and networking and systems support, and also research into the applications of VR in areas such as manufacturing, healthcare, the environment, education and entertainment. In most cases, Nottingham has been the leader of a number of workpackages in International Research Projects and in VIEW of the Future, Nottingham was the project manager.
